We often become too accustomed to drinking the same thing each and every week, so when a limited edition collaboration of this magnitude comes along, it’s worth paying attention.
That would be a new limited edition coffee gin liqueur created by the Singapore Tourism Board in collaboration with famed pastry chef Anna Polyviou, coming straight from Singapore’s first-ever gin distillery, Tanglin Gin.
Designed as a hybrid between the flavours of Singapore and Australia, the unique honey bean coffee gin liqueur has been released nationwide with a very limited batch brew of 250 bottles.
It’s hoped that the hand-crafted gin will provide Aussies with a different kind of taste of Singapore while travelling steady bubbles back up.
“With travel between Australia and Singapore temporarily on hold, it was important for me to be able to help give Australians access to the flavours and vibes of Singapore,” said Polyviou. “I’ve never been involved in a collaboration like this before and it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Being able to influence the creation of a new product, from concept right through to the packaging, has been very special and I’m really proud [of] what we’ve produced.”
Given both Singapore and Australia have a deep and undying love for coffee, playing around with this flavour was a no-brainer. The Honey Bean Coffee Gin Liqueur uses coffee sourced from the Atherton Tablelands in Australia as well as coffee from specialist roasters in Singapore. Singapore-produced honey is then mixed in with the creaminess of Australian macadamia nuts to further the blend of both countries.
The Honey Bean Coffee Gin Liqueur is a very versatile addition to any cocktail, although we imagine most would be using it to create a different kind of Espresso Martini.
