A man was left in need of hospital treatment after a group of men attacked him whilst he was out walking his dog on Christmas Day (Saturday, December 25).

The attack happened along Rockley Road in Luton, between 7.30pm and 8.45pm.

The group of men, aged between 18 and 20, reportedly asked the dog walker for a cigarette.

When he said he didn’t have one, he was attacked, and left injured.

He ultimately needed hospital treatment, and investigating officers at Bedfordshire Police are now searching for more information.

PC Christopher Murphy from Bedfordshire Police’s Crime Investigation Team said: “This was a horrific and unprovoked attack, which left a man with injuries that required hospital treatment.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything to come forward as this may help us identify the men who did this.”
